In this tutorial you will add a category in WB Listora, and give it an icon and a colour. You need the free WB Listora plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Categories. Read the list. Name a category. Pick an icon and a colour. Then see it on your site. Step one. Open Categories. In your WordPress admin, go to Listora, then Categories. The tabs at the top hold Categories, Locations, Features, Tags and Service Categories. On the left is the form to add a category. On the right is the list of your categories. Step two. Read the list. All types, and one link for each listing type, narrow the list. Here it shows Restaurant. Each row has an icon, a name, the listing types that offer it, a colour, and a count of listings. Casual, for example, has a fork and knife on red, and eight listings. Step three. Name a category. Under Add New Category, type a name, such as Dog Parks. Leave Slug empty, and it is made from the name, for the web address. Parent Category makes it part of another category. None keeps it at the top. Description is optional. The category page shows it above the listings. Step four. Pick an icon and a colour. With the name typed, click Select Icon. Search the icons, and click the one you want. It shows in the list, and on the category tile. Color sets the accent colour of the category. Then click Add New Category to keep it. Step five. See it on your site. On the Browse Categories page, each category is a tile, with its icon on its colour. Casual shows its fork and knife in red, with its listing type and its number of listings. That is all five. Open Categories, read the list, name a category, pick an icon and a colour, and see it on your site. Your categories now carry their own icon and colour. Next in this series: Build your locations: country, state and city.
