In this tutorial you will run the WB Listora setup wizard, which sets up a new directory in a few short parts. You need the free WB Listora plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the setup wizard. Choose your listing types. Set your location. Choose a map provider. Check your pages. Then add sample listings. Step one. Open the setup wizard. On a new site, the wizard opens by itself when you activate Listora. To run it again later, go to Settings, then Advanced, and click Re-run setup. If setup is already finished, Listora asks first, because a second run takes you back through types, location, maps and pages. Click Run the wizard again, and the wizard opens on its first part. The bar at the top grows as you move through the parts. Step two. Choose your listing types. The wizard asks what type of directory you are building. Tick one or more, such as Restaurant and Business. The types you tick are the ones your directory offers. You can add more later. Continue takes you to the next part. Step three. Set your location. Type the country and the city your directory serves. Latitude and longitude set where your maps start. If your directory covers the whole world, tick the global directory box instead. Then click Continue. Step four. Choose a map provider. OpenStreetMap needs no API key, and it works in the free plugin. Pick a tile source from the list, or paste your own provider's tile server. You can also leave it for later, in Settings, Maps. Until you do, your maps show a notice instead of a map. Google Maps needs WB Listora Pro and an API key. With Pro, you choose it in Settings, Maps. Step five. Check your pages. Listora makes the Directory Home, Add Listing and My Dashboard pages for you, each with an Edit and a View link. Optional pages add Browse Categories, Featured Listings and an Events Calendar. On this site they are already in place. Step six. Add sample listings. Pick a demo pack, such as Restaurant Directory, to see your directory with real content. If you would rather start empty, choose the option to skip demo content and add your own listings. Then click Finish Setup. Listora saves your choices and your directory is ready. That is all six. Open the wizard, choose your types, set your location, choose a map, check your pages, and add sample listings. Your directory now has its types, its map and its pages. Next in this series: Connect the directory pages.
