In this tutorial you will choose the map provider in WB Listora, set where maps start, and tune how maps behave. You need the free WB Listora plugin, installed and active. Google Maps needs WB Listora Pro, and one step is marked Pro. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Open Maps. Choose a map provider. Set where maps start. Set the map options. Add a Google key, with Pro. Then see the map. Step one. Open Maps. Go to Listora, then Settings, and click Maps. The tab has five parts. Map provider, Where maps start, Options, Live map status, and Google Maps API. Step two. Choose a map provider. OpenStreetMap is chosen. It is free, and it needs no key. Google Maps is the other choice. It is a Pro option, and it needs a Google key. Step five covers it. Under it, Tile source sets the map style. OpenStreetMap suits a small directory. Busy sites should pick another source. The list also offers MapTiler Streets and Stadia Alidade Smooth. Each needs a free key from that provider. Step three. Set where maps start. This is the place and zoom a map opens on before any listing is in view. Type a city, an address or a landmark in Find a place, and click Find. Pick the match, and the pin moves there. You can also drag the pin, or click the map, and zoom to the view visitors should see first. Enter coordinates opens exact latitude, longitude and zoom boxes. Nothing changes until you click Save Changes. Step four. Set the map options. Marker clustering groups nearby listings into one numbered circle on a busy map. Search on drag shows a Search this area button when a visitor moves or zooms the map. Max markers caps how many markers are drawn at once. Keep it lower for slower phones. Then click Save Changes, at the bottom right, to keep your choices. Step five. Add a Google key, with Pro. Google Maps needs a key with the Maps JavaScript, Places and Geocoding services turned on. The key goes in this API key box. It stays empty here. Once you save a key, choose Google Maps as the provider. The same key powers Places autocomplete and the Google import tools. Step six. See the map. Visitors see it at the top of the Directory, in the style you chose. The numbered circles are the clusters from step four. Visitors can also click Near Me. After they move the map, a Search this area button appears. That is all six. Open Maps, choose a map provider, set where maps start, set the map options, add a Google key, and see the map. Your maps now open where you chose, in the style you chose. Next in this series: Rebuild search, manage demo data and data requests.
